Sensory Tree Christmas Party provides holiday fun for special needs students
Staff Reports
Special needs students from the area enjoyed the annual Sensory Tree Christmas Party Monday, hosted by the Smith County Medical Society Alliance at Discovery Science Place.
The event is designed to give challenged children an enjoyable time by offering free play and some holiday magic.
Alliance members decorated three Christmas trees with ornaments that appeal to different senses. Trains and animated toys were scattered about the museum.
About 100 students enjoyed live music and visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Each child received a Christmas stocking filled with goodies.
