1. SEE A NUTCRACKER COME TO LIFE
The Tyler Junior College Academy of Dance and professional guest dancers presents the popular holiday story of the nutcracker that comes to life in performances set for 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, at TJC's Wise Auditorium. 2. LET OUT A BELLY LAUGH
Stand-up comedian and actor Mike Epps headlines a night of comedy beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday in The Oil Palace, Texas Highway 64, east of Tyler. Tickets range from $34.75 to $99.75. For information, go to oilpalace.com.


3. WHO DOESN'T LOVE CHRISTMAS BELLS
The East Texas Handbell Ensemble presents a free concert, “Chrismas Magic,” at 7 p.m. Saturday in D.K. Caldwell Auditorium, 300 S. College Ave., Tyler. Information: easttexashandbellensemble.com.


4. ALL ABOARD TO THE NORTH POLE
Texas State Railroad's Polar Express trains (think of it as the famous holiday story come to life) depart from the Palestine depot at 3:45, 5:15, 6:45 and 8:10 p.m. Saturday. For tickets and information, go to texasstaterr.com.


5. MEET THE WRITERS
Palestine Public Library, 2000 South Loop 256, Palestine, presents several East Texas authors signing and talking about their books in a discussion at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Set to participate are C.R. Myers, Catherine Sellers, Bobbie Shafer, Patricia La Vigne and Patty Wiseman.


6. ITS CHRISTMAS ON STAGE
Tyler Civic Theatre stages “A Christmas Story,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at 400 Rose Park Drive. Tickets: $18 adults; $15, students. Box office: 903-592-0561, tylercivictheatre.com. 7. CHOO CHOO
The Gregg County Historical Museum, 214 N. Fredonia St., Longview, is showing its popular Holiday Village and Model Train exhibit through Dec. 15.


8. FLEA MARKET SUPER DUPER SIZED
It's First Monday weekend in Canton and the last one before Christmas no less. Expect huge crowds and millions of things on sale. Chances are you will find stocking stuffers galore.


9. HOLIDAY SPIRIT
Just about everywhere you look, there is a holiday celebration going on. Whitehouse, Chandler, Palestine, Arp are among the many cities with events on tap.


10. ROAD TRIP EXTRA: JUST FOR KICKS
