Texas Fishing Report

NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water clear, 63-67 degrees; 3.55’ low. Black bass are good on lipless crankbaits around shallow grass and Carolina rigged french fries along deeper points. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut shad.

BOB SANDLIN: Water clear; 64-68 degrees; 5.47’ low. Black bass are good on lipless crankbaits and vibrating jigs.

Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines with cut shad.

CADDO: Water stained; 64-68 degrees; 1.00’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics around stumps. White and yellow bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on cut shad. CEDAR CREEK: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 3.52’ low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits around any shallow cover and docks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

COOPER: Water clear; 63-68 degrees; 6.16’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics and lipless crankbaits.

Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait.

FORK: Water clear; 62-67 degrees; 4.31’ low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits in the shallows early in the day, later switching to black/blue 1/2oz. jigs along channel bends. Yellow bass are fair on smaller spoons.

Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut shad.

LAKE O’ THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 63-67 degrees; 4.12’ low. Black bass are good on lipless crankbaits around grass and shallow cover. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines. MARTIN CREEK: Water clear; 63-67 degrees; 5.16’ low. Black bass are good on lipless crankbaits and smaller spinnerbaits around shallow cover. Crappie are good on jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 81-86 degrees; 0.65’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics and black and blue jigs around stumps. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on cut bait.

PALESTINE: Water clear; 62-66 degrees; 1.76’ low. Black bass are good on black/blue jigs and shakyheads around docks. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. White bass are good on minnows.

Catfish are good on prepared bait.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water clear; 62-66 degrees; 4.29’ low. Black bass are good on weightless soft plastics, finesse worms and flipping jigs around docks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs and live shad.

Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

TAWAKONI: Water stained; 63-67 degrees; 4.18’ low. Black bass are good on white bladed jigs and flipping jigs around docks - mid day bite has been best. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on cut bait and trotlines.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 63-67 degrees; 3.07’ high. Black bass are good on vibrating jigs and Texas rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.


SOUTHEAST
CONROE: Water clear; 69-73 degrees; 3.25’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crank-baits, and Rat-L-Traps in 15-25 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are fair on liver and nightcrawlers.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water stained; 66-70 degrees; 0.19’ high. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on pumpkinseed Brush Hogs near the pump station under docks. Crappie are fair on live minnows in 20 feet. Bream are slow. Catfish to 3 pounds are good on juglines baited with shad and perch.

LIVINGSTON: Water fairly clear; 73-77 degrees; 0.63’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon/chartreuse soft plastics and spinnerbaits.

Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad, shrimp, and prepared baits. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 69-73 degrees; 4.44’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps in 20-30 feet. White bass are good on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Bream are fair on worms. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.

TOLEDO BEND: Water lightly stained; 69-74 degrees; 4.29’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastic worms, topwaters, and shallow running crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on silver spoons and striper jigs. White bass are good on minnows and hellbenders. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Bream are fair on nightcrawlers. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows and prepared bait. Yellow catfish are slow.
