Distribution event for annual PATH campaign set
Staff Reports

The annual “Coats for Kids” distribution event, hosted by local nonprofit People Attempting to Help, will be today and Sunday.

PATH has collected more than 3,000 coats to give to children up to age 18.

The coats are available to children who reside in Smith County.

Parents of children receiving coats must bring their photo ID, proof of residence in Smith County (by an official document with current address, such as a utility bill or government document), and identification for each child receiving a coat (a birth certificate, Social Security card, school ID badge, report card, Medicare card, etc.).

Information about what families need to bring to receive a coat is available on the PATH website, www.PATHhelps.org, and is available in English and Spanish.

Coats will be distributed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 3000 N. Border Ave., in the old Griffin Elementary School gymnasium.

For more information or to make a donation, contact PATH at 903-597-7284.
