CBS19 gets Lone Star Emmy award

“J.B.’s Journal,” a feature that airs on KYTX CBS19 won a Lone Star Emmy Award recognizing broadcast excellence.
The award was presented during a ceremony held at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday.
The segment features Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith highlighting stories about East Texas history and heritage. The award was in the Texas Heritage category.
“J.B.’s Journal” airs on Wednesdays during KYTX CBS19’s 6 p.m. news during January, February, April, May, October and November.
The segment is produced by Smith and Scott and Rebecca Berkley.
CBS19’s morning and 10 p.m. news casts also were nominated for awards.
