Student who brought gun to Brook Hill School expelled
Staff Reports

A student who brought a weapon on to The Brook Hill School campus last week is no longer enrolled at the school.

On Thursday evening, the student drove his pickup with a deer rifle in it on to campus in Bullard after school hours, according to a statement from Headmaster Rod Fletcher.

The student never removed the hunting rifle from his truck, nor was there any evidence that he intended to harm someone with it, Fletcher wrote.

In addition, no ammunition was found.

The situation was reported to local authorities and handled without anyone being put in danger, Fletcher wrote.

“The school is pleased with the assistance received from the local authorities and the parents of the young man,” Fletcher wrote. “Out of respect for those involved, I am not at liberty to discuss this situation any further.”

The Texas Penal Code prohibits a person from possessing a firearm and other weapons on the physical premises of a public or private school campus.
