Martha Cope Yarborough
Martha Cope Yarborough, 94, passed away Nov. 13, 2012.
Mrs. Yarborough was born Nov. 26, 1917, in Rowe, Okla., to the late Susie and Charley Duncan.
Her first husband, Fred R. Cope, was employed by an oil company, and they lived in several states, finally coming home to Shawnee Okla. They moved to Dallas 1963. Mr. Cope died April 1970.
In Dallas she was a member of Highland Baptist Church and taught a lady’s Sunday school class for many years. Mrs. Yarborough retired from dentistry after working for Dr. W.E. Bryant for 29 years in Shawnee, Okla., and Dallas.
After being a widow for 11 years, she met and married Donald V. Yarborough. They were married in the home of Dr. and Mrs. W.E. Bryant. They moved to Tyler in 1986 and became members of Green Acres Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jesse Duncan; and husbands, Fred R. Cope and Donald V. Yarborough. She is survived by niece, Elizabeth “Betty” Brown and husband Mel Brown, Troup; stepsons, Bill Yarborough, Galveston, John Yarborough, Frisco; and stepdaughter, Mickie McFatridge, Artesia, N.M.
Private burial will be in Garden of the Gospels, Restland Memorial Cemetery, Dallas.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
