Texas Fishing Report

NORTHEAST
ATHENS: Water clear, 66-70 degrees; 3.45' low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits around shallow cover. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut shad.

BOB SANDLIN: Water clear; 66-71 degrees; 5.26' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits and shad pattern shallow crankbaits. Crappie are fair on jigs over brush piles. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair on trotlines with cut shad.

BRIDGEPORT: Water clear; 64-69 degrees; 14.42' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged Baby Brush Hogs in California 420 fished around any cover. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Channel catfish no report.

CADDO: Water stained; 67-71 degrees; 1.15' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastics in green pumpkin or watermelon red. White and yellow bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on cut shad.

CEDAR CREEK: Water clear; 67-71 degrees; 3.25' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits around any shallow cover and docks. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are slow on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

COOPER: Water clear; 66-71 degrees; 5.72' low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged soft plastics. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait.

FAIRFIELD: Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.

FORK: Water clear; 65-70 degrees; 4.15' low. Black bass are slow on spinnerbaits and shallow crankbaits. Yellow bass are fair on smaller spoons along creek channel bends in deeper water. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

GRAPEVINE: Water clear; 65-71 degrees; 6.44' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits around main lake points. Texas rigged soft plastics and finesse jigs are effective around marina docks. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs and jigs. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

JOE POOL: Water clear; 66-70 degrees; 2.25' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged soft plastic creature baits in watermelon red. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and jigs. Catfish are good on prepared baits.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 66-71 degrees; 4.06' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits around wood cover. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on cut trotlines.

LAVON: Water lightly stained; 66-70 degrees; 8.45' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits around shallow cover. White bass are good on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on cut shad.

LEWISVILLE: Water clear; 65-69 degrees; 5.55' low. Black bass are good on weightless Senkos and shakyheads around marinas. Crappie are good on jigs. White bass are good on slabs and jigs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

MARTIN CREEK: Water clear; 66-71 degrees; 5.10' low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits around shallow cover - midday switch to flipping soft plastics in the same areas. Crappie are good on jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut shad.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 82-88 degrees; 1.17' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged soft plastics and black and blue jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on cut bait.
PALESTINE: Water clear; 65-70 degrees; 1.64' low. Black bass are good on black/blue jigs and Texas rigged soft plastics. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. White bass are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

RAY HUBBARD: Water clear; 65-69 degrees; 3.38' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged plastics around shallow docks and rocks. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared baits.

RAY ROBERTS: Water clear; 65-71 degrees; 3.30' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged soft plastic baits along edges of grass. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait or live shad.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water clear; 66-70 degrees; 3.96' low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits around the walkways on docks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs and live shad. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

TAWAKONI: Water stained; 67-71 degrees; 3.92' low. Black bass are fair on white bladed jigs and flipping jigs around docks. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are good on white or shad pattern Sassy Shad in the deeper water when suspending during the day - drifting live bait is also producing.
Catfish are good on cut bait and trotlines.

TEXOMA: Water clear; 66-71 degrees; 4.13' low. Black bass are good on medium diving crankbaits along main lake points. Striped bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on cut bait.

WEATHERFORD: Water clear; 66-71 degrees; 6.54' low. Black bass are fair on shakyheads and finesse jigs around docks. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait. White bass are good on slabs and live minnows.

WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 66-70 degrees; 3.25' high. Black bass are fair on hollow bodied frogs and bladed swim jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are slow on prepared bait.
