Vocalists share talents in Coronation
This year’s Rose Queen’s Coronation featured performances by tenor Mark Johnson and soprano Molly Johnson, a Tyler couple whose vocal talents have won them acclaim.
The Johnsons’ performing and directing credits include opera, musical theatre, concert and chamber performances in New York, at the White House, and across much of the United States and into Canada.
Their commitment to church music includes two duo albums and performances with major television ministries, says information on their website.
As teachers, the Johnsons specialize in the performing vocal arts. Their students have performed on Broadway and at New Yor City Opera, and have won Dove and Grammy awards and work in recording and TV industries.
Currently, Mark Johnson is professor of Creative Arts-Music at Southwest Christian University and Molly is associate professor of Voice and Director of Opera and Musical Theatre at UT Tyler.
They operate a music studio in Tyler.
