The President of the Order of the Rose; Rowe Anderson, will be presenting his own daughter, Queen Haley McGrede Anderson.
For the ball, the center will be decorated in images of trees, flower blossoms, and songbirds.
Decorations Chair, Mary Lauren Faulkner said, “Chinoiserie is a French term that refers to anything in decoration that is Chinese in origin. … Chinoiserie is expressed best in the decorative arts and in particular in porcelain and wall covering.”
The centerpieces consisted of rose tole planters with pink roses and rose nests interned in antiqued bird cages. Ivy bird cages are decorated with a touch of black velvet ribbon. Arrangements by Garden Style complete the environment created by Jayna and Jim Monroe of Monroe Designs of Dallas.
Queen Haley will appear in a handmade white ball gown designed by Amsale Aberra with a strapless, sweetheart neckline rimmed with crystals, and a natural waistline bodice.
Crystals are hand-set onto the bodice and the skirt is adorned with organza flowers. Crystal beads sparkle in the center of each flower. She also will wear a hand-made crown encrusted with Swarovski crystals and featuring the fleur de lis of her Kappa sorority.
The ball is catered by Joseph’s Catering of Tyler. Music will be provided by Dr Larry “T-Byrd” Gordon and his orchestra/show band, the Music People Luv Band.
Order of the Rose officers are Rowe McGrede Anderson, president; Ronald Casey Brownlow, vice president; Kevin Paul Eltife, treasurer. Cathy Crow Bertram is the ball chairperson.
