Jimmy Lee Coleman
A memorial service for Jimmy Lee Coleman, 77, Flint, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Carter officiating.
Mr. Coleman was born July 10, 1935, in Topeka Kan., to Lester and Mary Ena Coleman. He passed away Sept. 19, 2012, at Mother Frances Hospital.
He served his country in the United States Navy with honorable discharge. He was a dedicated member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church where he taught a men’s Sunday school class for many years.
Mr. Coleman graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1962, where he completed his internship in pharmacy. He retired as a pharmacist from Mother Frances Hospital in 2000 but continued to stay active in the pharmacy until 2006.
As a pharmacist, Mr. Coleman served on numerous committees and was involved throughout his life in research and teaching to help advance hospital pharmaceutical care. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists in March of 1977. On April 30, 2012, he was recognized by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy for 50 years of service as a licensed pharmacist.
Mr. Coleman was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
