Convenience store robbed at gunpoint

Smith County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man they said robbed a convenience store Thursday morning for cigarettes and a lighter.
Lt. Tony Dana said the black male suspect entered the Food Fast on Texas Highway 64 East and Old Henderson Highway shortly before 1 a.m. and pointed a black handgun at the clerk.
Dana said the man demanded cigarettes and ligh-ters before leaving the area on foot.
Investigators said the robber is described as a black man, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and about 115 pounds. He was wearing gray basketball shorts, black muscle shirt, a stocking mask and a brown glove on his left hand.
