Chance of t-storms
Upper-level high pressure is centered above the desert southwest today, leaving East Texas near its eastern edge. That will allow another weak cold front to back into the area from the northeast tonight and Thursday and increase our chance for thunderstorms. Activity is expected to decrease this weekend. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s into next week. Winds will become northwesterly behind the front Thursday.

before returning from the southeast 5 to 10 mph Friday.

Ernesto became a hurricane Tuesday afternoon in the Caribbean. Ernesto will cross the Yucatan Peninsula today and weaken to a tropical storm before emerging and restrengthening over the southern Gulf of Mexico Thursday. The storm's projected path will take into central Mexico this weekend.
