Dogwood Jamboree show set Aug. 11 at Civic Center

Dan Manuel and The Dogwood Jamboree will present “Down Home Country” at the Palestine Civic Center at Loop 256 and Texas Highway 19 at 7 p.m. Aug. 11.

The venue will feature the Hall Brothers from Houston performing songs such as “Dream On,” “Elvira,” “All The Gold In California,” “Dig A Little Deeper In The Well” and “Do You Know You Are My Sunshine.”

Also performing will be Joe Hancock, Tammy Bostick, Hal Roper, “Flo” Dean Robertson, Kimmy Hendricks, Sissy Perry, George Lester, Chloe Collins and Manuel.

Three contestants under age 18 will compete in the “Dogwood Jamboree Talent Search.”

The winner will advance to the finals in December and compete for the title “Artist of the Year.”

Auditions for the talent search for the October show will be in early October. Those wishing to audition may call 903-729-5611 or 903-729-7080. Those auditioning must be 18 or younger. There is no entry fee for auditioning.

At the intermission, door prizes donated by local merchants and businesses will be given away. For additional information about the show, or to purchase advance tickets at a discounted rate of $12.50, call 903-723-7080 or 903-724-2556.

Tickets at the door are $15 per adult and $6 for children 6 to 10 years of age. Children ages 5 and under get in free.
