One dead, two injured in one-vehicle accident on Interstate 20
One person was killed and two people injured in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 west of Texas Highway 42 about 2:45 p.m. Friday, according to information from Kilgore Police Department.
A white Chevrolet Tahoe blew a tire which caused the vehicle to veer off the roadway and roll, police said.
Officers rendered first aid to a child and a passenger until arrival of medical personnel. The child was air lifted to Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport and another occupant of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
A third occupant died at the scene, officers said.
Besides Kilgore police, the Kilgore Fire Department and Kilgore Rescue responded to the one-vehicle accident. Assistance was provided by Gregg County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety.
