Legitimate Fear, August 1
Our Forefathers from experience were afraid of government — especially their own — and what it might try to do in the future. They had experience and perception, and they gave us the tools to limit and control government in our Constitution. The Second Amendment of our Bill of Rights was not to preserve hunting rights and sports shooting.
Here is what Thomas Jefferson had to say:
“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against a tyranny in government.”
Today our politicians, from top to bottom, including our Supreme Court, are ignoring the Constitution for their own benefit. Improper (or even illegal) executive orders on immigration and changing the “Affordable Care Act” mandate to a tax are just two of many examples. The downfall of our democratic republic, liberty and freedom must be preceded by gun registration, control and then confiscation. This is the way throughout history that the loss occurs. We gradually lose little parts of our liberty and freedom until they are completely gone. Our leaders have completely failed us all for years — we don’t need more gun laws or taxes, we need enforcement of our Constitution, including a budget and controlled spending. Vote for new leaders.
