Members of the Texas Rose Festival Queen's Court recently gathered in Tyler for rehearsals in preparation for the Rose Queen's Coronation this fall.

Summer rehearsals provide an opportunity for the young women from Tyler to get to know the out-of-town participants who will be featured as duchesses.

Court members, who are entering their sophomore year in college, learned the stage movements and bows to the audience they will perform during the coronation shows on Oct. 19 at The University of Texas at Tyler Cowan Center.

This year's rose queen is Haley McGrede Anderson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rowe Anderson. The duchess of the festival is Joy Lynn Ramey, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ramey.

The festival, “Indochine: Year of the Dragon,” will take place Oct. 18-21.
