Smith Is Man For The Job; July 27
I am writing this letter in support of Smith County Sheriff candidate Larry Smith. I am a former Smith County deputy sheriff and Texas game warden. In 1981, I resigned from the Sheriff's Office to accept a position for the Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Texas game warden. I served as a Texas game warden for over 29 years and retired as a regional supervisor stationed in East Texas at the rank of major.
Early in my game warden career, I was assigned to Gregg County. I worked alongside and with Larry Smith as he served the citizens of Gregg County as the supervisor of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Gregg County Sheriff's Department. Larry has always worked with and assisted all law enforcement agencies on a local, state and federal level. Larry always brought a mature, professional, and knowledgeable approach to whatever the investigation might be.
During my career moves, I have remained in contact with Larry Smith. He has assisted me throughout my career with law enforcement resources, even arranging training for some of the game wardens under my command.
Larry Smith has always been a proactive leader that always exhibits honesty and integrity. He is a man of service. The citizens of Smith County have an extremely qualified choice for Smith County Sheriff, and that choice is Larry Smith.
