John 'Bert' Tull Jr. And Virginia 'Jip' Tull
John “Bert” Tull Jr., 64, and his wife, Virginia “Jip” Tull, 74, both of Tyler, passed away on July 17, 2012, at their home in Tyler. Bert, a registered nurse, was born on July 9, 1948, in Fort Worth and Jip, also a registered nurse, was born on Sept. 3, 1937, in Jacksonville, Ala. They were married on January 21, 1975, in Grand Prairie and were members of Trinity Baptist Church. Bert was a U.S. Navy veteran and an alumnus of Tyler Junior College.
Both are survived by daughters, Melissa (and her husband Kenneth) Skierski of Tool, Amanda Geer of Tyler; grandsons, Zachary Skierski, Leif Skierski, Coby Gordy; and granddaughters, Bethany Tull and Dacy Geer.
Bert is survived by his father, John Tull Sr. of Grand Prairie; sisters, Tetinia Savage of Grand Prairie, Susan Spindor of Morgan Mill;
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Smitherman, son, Robert Smitherman and mother, Virginia Tull.
Jip is survived brothers, Ray Taylor of Azle and John Taylor of Beaumont.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Texas Highway 64 W., in Tyler, with services to follow at 11 a. m. Bro. James Cheatham will officiate, and interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Mausoleum, 903-597-1396.
