East Texas Writers Guild Workshop Slated Saturday
The East Texas Writers Guild will conduct its seventh annual writers’ workshop beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce in downtown Tyler.
Featured speakers for the workshop are New York Times best-selling author Taylor Stev-ens and motivational speaker and writer Mark “Tenacious” Towers.
Ms. Stevens is the author of the best-selling novel “The Informationist,” which has received critical acclaim, has been published in 17 languages and nominated for several awards for best first novel, including The Anthony Award, The Barry Award, and The Macavity Award. Ms. Taylor’s topic for discussion is “The Writer’s Life.”
Towers is an internationally known motivational speaker and writer who has been all over the world, teaching the qualities of excellence in leadership, and is the author of numerous books, including Becoming a BLT (Believable, Likeable and Trusted) Leader at Home and at Work. Tower’s topic for discussion is “Seven Strategics for Dealing with Rejection.”
Registration is $30 for guild members and $40 for nonmembers. A boxed lunch is provided.
The next regular guild meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the chamber.
