Tyler Motorcyclist Killed In Wreck Identified

A 34-year-old Tyler man riding on a motorcycle was killed on Wednesday night when the driver of a pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer made a U-turn in front of him, according to information received from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Anthony Todd Wilkerson was pronounced dead at East Texas Medical Center hospital at 8:24 p.m. after the accident, which happened on U.S. Highway 271 North, four miles north of Tyler. There were no other injuries reported.
The driver was wearing a helmet, and the conditions of the road were clear and dry, according to the DPS.
The driver of the truck was cited for an unsafe turn, DPS Cpl. Nicholas Castle said on Wednesday night. DPS and the Winona Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
