Jane Ellen Peterson
A memorial service for Jane Ellen Peterson, 87, of Tyler is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint with Father Tim Kelly and Father Gus Tharappel presiding. Arrangements are under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Jane was born May 14, 1925, in Port Huron, Mich., to Otto and Angela Thrun and passed away July 7, 2012.
A homemaker, she lived in many places throughout Texas and Oklahoma as her husband, Donald Peterson, worked for Oldsmobile Division of General Motors. She was an award-winning artist, competing in shows in Houston and Tyler. Bridge was one of her big loves after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Linda and Bobby Roberson of Flint, James and Nancy Peterson of Marietta, Ga., David and Pat Peterson of San Jose, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Susan Peterson of Camden, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jennifer Reynen, Brian Peterson, Mariellen Speaker, Keith Peterson, Eric Peterson, Kristin Gainer, Kay Eidson, Jennifer Wilson, James Wilson and Katie Wilson; eight great-grandchildren; and nephews, Tom and Charlie Dart of Grand Ledge, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald K. Peterson, after a marriage of 65 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
