Raves, Rants & Roses

Thank You Drivers, July 8
RAVES: I would like to thank the Tyler-area drivers for their patience and courtesy on July 1. Power went out at the intersection of the Southwest Loop and Frankston Highway, requiring officers to direct traffic for three hours. I was one of the pair in the intersection in rain, sunshine, and then more rain. Most of the drivers were extremely observant of the directions we gave. It always is harrowing to stand in the middle of major highways, even more so when the rain diminishes vision, but everyone did well.

Officer Rhodes and I thank the nice lady who gave us cold bottles of water during the heat, then to the man from Bodacious Barbecue who brought us some more cold water. It is nice to receive support from our community. Tyler's support has been gracious throughout the 14 years I have been here. Serving the residents of Tyler is a pleasure.

Officer W. C. Moore
