Rose City Civitan Club Honors Founding Members
Tyler Rose Civitan Club recently honored three founding members for 35 years of service to the organizatgion and community.
Club members Jessie Caldwell, Leamon Caldwell and Burnett Williams have served the club since its fonding on June 19, 1977, said information from the club.
“Congratulations to you on your 35 years of service, 35 years of making the Rose City a better place to live, 35 years of practicing the Golden Rule,” Civitan International President William Buscher wrote the honorees.
At a recent meeting, club President James Earl Booker honored the three with certificates.
Rose Civitan has a history of providing scholarships while helping indivduals and other organizations with meeting needs of citizens.
In the 1950s, Civitan adopted a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities and has been a longtime supporter of Special Olympics International.
