Larry Smith The Best Candidate For Sheriff, June 24
Larry Smith is my candidate for sheriff of Smith County. I’ve known Larry Smith for more than 30 years. I first met Larry Smith in the early 1980s during an undercover narcotics operation when four armed drug dealers tried to end my life. Larry did not have to come out to the scene that cold, rainy night more than 30 years ago. I learned that night that is how Larry Smith operates. He does not have to, he wants to.
When Larry Smith announced his candidacy for Smith County sheriff, I volunteered to work with his campaign. Larry welcomed me and told me he had only one rule: no negative campaigning. He told me, “If elected, it will be on my record and past performance.”
I have worked with Larry Smith on different investigations, some complex and some very routine. In each and every investigation, Larry always took the time and effort to lead, educate and bring his technological expertise and knowledge to the investigation including the recent high profile church arson cases.
Larry Smith has experience in the Gregg County sheriff’s office from the entry level deputy position to the captain of investigations. His federal training and experiences have solved some of the most heinous crimes in east Texas.
I worked for Tyler Police Department from 1977 to early 2012. I known Larry Smith is the best candidate for sheriff. Please join me in voting for Larry Smith.
