Alba Shooting Death Probed
Wood County Sheriff's deputies continue their investigation into a shooting death Tuesday night in Alba.
According to a news release, deputies were dispatched to 420 County Road 2375 in Alba in reference to shots fired.
"Upon arrival, deputies found a white male had been shot once in the chest," according to the release.
The victim was identified as Scott Reed, 37. After being stabilized, Reed was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Quitman, where he was later pronounced deceased, the release stated.
Officials say an autopsy was ordered. Reed's body was sent to Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.
