UPDATE: Wills Point Officer Possibly Injured, Another Officer Involved In Pursuit In Two Separate Incidences
UPDATE:
Van Zandt County Sheriff Pat Burnett confirmed that a Wills Point police officer was involved in a pursuit with people suspected of stealing beer in Wills Point.

He said officers were involved in a pursuit, but that seems to have ended.

Police scanner traffic indicates the incident came to an end in the city of Van.

He said no shots were fired during the pursuit.

The sheriff said another incident, not believed to be related to the theft, possibly injured a Wills Point officer when his car was struck by an out of control van.

He said a truck traveling on U.S. Highway 80 lost control, veered off the road and into a ditch. The truck flipped and landed on top of the squad car.

Two men from the truck were being transported from the scene of the accident.

Tyler Paper.com will continue to post more information about the incident as it becomes available.
