Click It Or Ticket Nabs 150 Violators
During a 10-day campaign, Tyler police officers issued more that 150 citations for seat belt violations.

The Click It Or Ticket campaign, which began May 21 and ended June 3, is a special effort by police officers to crack down on seat-belt violations.

During the campaign, the department issued 157 tickets for no seat belts to drivers and four tickets for child-safety-seat violations, according to a news release issued by the Tyler Police Department.

"Texas law requires every person sitting in the front or rear seat of a vehicle to wear a safety belt. A child less than 8 years old and less than 4-feet-9-inches tall must be secured in a child-safety seat," according to the release.

"Drivers can be stopped and ticketed for a safety-belt violation if they, or any of their passengers under the age of 15, are not buckled up or properly restrained."
