Stolen Valor, June 10
Regarding the recent Tyler Paper article, “Stolen Valor,” about the local man who falsely claimed to have been a Tuskegee airman, I have given this subject extensive thought.
I strongly recommend the people involved in the selection of the names for the Texas State Veterans Home begin an action to change the name.
I am a 20-year (plus) veteran of the U.S. Army, with multiple tours in Vietnam. I am and have been a loyal supporter of the Red Tail project. I cannot believe that the persons involved in the selection of the names for this fine facility did not take the time to verify the backgrounds of the people whose names were selected to be placed on this fine and expensive facility.
