Scott Walker Victory A Win For America, June 10
The voters in Wisconsin in November 2010 elected Scott Walker, a conservative who passed legislation to cut spending and lower the debt. When he asked public union members to pay a portion of their insurance and retirement benefits, they rebelled. Union members flooded the state capitol; Democrat congressmen fled the state to avoid voting; why even President Obama announced he’d like to be there to protest these unfair measures. And he did not call for “civility in the streets” even when state union members joined by union members across the nation (funded by national unions, George Soros and MoveOn) did over $500,000 damage to their own state capitol.
Union members, acting exactly like our persistent petulant president, called for Gov. Walker to be recalled, securing one million signatures (true some were Donald Duck, Snow White, etc.) but for the past years the Wisconsin government has been in turmoil.
Well, on June 5, the taxpayers spoke again. Gov. Walker and the conservative lieutenant governor will remain in office. They’ve been able to put Wisconsin on the track to lower taxes and lower debt during all the recall efforts. Now they can continue to do the job they were elected to in 2010. What a change.
A faint glimmer of hope is emitting from Wisconsin. Do you think union members will abide by legislation that goes against their wishes? Do you believe the words “we are broke” will begin to resonate?
