Winnsboro Police Under Federal Investigation
The Wood County Criminal District Attorney's Office has suspended prosecution of cases involving the Winnsboro Police Department because of a federal investigation involving its officers.
Wood County District Attorney Jim Wheeler issued a news release indicating his office would not comment on the case and directed all inquiries to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Davilyn Walston, a spokeswoman for the department's Eastern District, said the office does not comment on pending cases.
