UPDATE: 1 dead, 1 child seriously injured in Red Springs wreck
One person is dead and a child was seriously injured today in a one-vehicle accident near Red Springs on Texas Highway 14 north of Interstate 20 in Smith County, emergency officials said.
A northbound Chevrolet Corvette left the road and crashed into a tree, officials said.
The driver was pronounced dead, and a child was taken by air ambulance to the hospital.
Officials remain at the scene investigating.
