GILMER -- Jury selection is scheduled next Monday in 115th District Court for the murder trial of a Big Sandy man charged with shooting his sister last July, Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd said.

Glenn Wade Myers Jr., 55, is accused of killing 52-year-old Cindy Espinoza on July 2 at her rural western Upshur County home.

An autopsy showed the woman, whose home in the 1900 block of Nutmeg Road had a Big Sandy address, died of a gunshot wound to the head, Upshur County Justice of the Peace Lyle Potter said.

Myers remains in Upshur County Jail under $350,000 bond, according to the Upshur County judicial website.

Testimony in the case is scheduled to open June 18, Byrd said.

Former Upshur County District Attorney Tim Cone, now in private law practice near Gilmer, is Myers's court-appointed attorney. 115th District Judge Lauren Parish will preside in the case.
