SUV Slams Oil Derrick In Kilgore
An SUV slammed through a decorative fence and into an oil derrick on the "World's Richest Acre in Texas" in Kilgore Saturday morning.
The driver of the SUV fell asleep at the wheel and hit the derrick at the corner of Commerce Street and Main Street, officials said.
The driver, 22-year-old Jacob Youngblood, of Overton, was given a sobriety test by police, which he passed.
Both Youngblood and his passenger, 23-year-old
Bret Darragh, were not injured in the incident.
The derrick has been declared stable despite the damage to its right leg.
