Film About Carthage Murder Case Finally Arrives In East Texas
Director Richard Linklater’s film based on the real life story of Carthage resident Bernie Tiede (depicted by Jack Black) will premiere in Kilgore at 4 Star Cinema tonight. Attending the screening will be Linklater, along with co-screenwriter Skip Hollandsworth, real life prosecutor Danny “Buck” Davidson and defense attorney Scrappy Holmes. The special, one-night-only screening will begin at 6 p.m.
Presented by Longview Ballet Theatre, tickets are available via LeTourneau University’s Belcher Center. Admission is available at two levels. A $50 ticket provides access to the red carpet arrivals as well as the screening. A $150 ticket provides access to the red carpet arrivals, the screening and an after party with food and beverages, as well as a special Q&A session with Linklater. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Longview Ballet.
