Police Nab Suspect In Texaco Robbery
Tyler police captured a suspect in a robbery at the Texaco gas station at 1118 W. Gentry Parkway about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to information released by the police department.
Responding to a 911 call, Officer Tim Hutson discovered that Alan Michael Rodriguez, 17, had attempted to rob the store, police said. He displayed a knife to the store clerk and demanded cash from the register but did not get any money from the clerk, an investigation found.
Rodriguez attempted to flee the area on foot but was captured by Hutson. He was later booked into the Smith County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
