UPDATE: Drowning At Lake Hawkins Confirmed
Wood County Game Warden Derek Spitzer confirmed that one man drowned today Lake Hawkins.
A 27 year-old Hispanic male died while swimming back from the buoy line in the Lake Hawkins County Park swimming area around 6:40 p.m., he said.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family, he said.
Alcohol is not believed to have been factor.
