Air Force
Air Force Airman 1st Class Aaron E. Garcia graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Garcia, son of Freddie Garcia of Tyler, is a 2003 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Tyler. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2008 from Baylor University in Waco.
Navy
Navy Seaman Recruit Harley C. Harrigan, Navy Seaman Matthew J. Hutton, Navy Seaman Recruit Christopher J. Perkins and Navy Hospitalman Garrett Nicholas recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Harrigan is a 2011 graduate of Rains High School, Emory.
Hutton, son of David M. Hutton of Whitehouse and Lori A. Saxon of Hillsboro, Ore., is a graduate of Westview High School of Portland, Ore.
Perkins, son of Christy P. and Glen E. Perkins, of Malakoff, is a 2011 graduate of Malakoff High School.
Nicholas, son of Alan W. Nicholas, of Palestine, and Melissa E. Nicholas, of Pflugerville, is a 2009 graduate of Pflugerville High School.
Marines
Marine Corps Pvt. Justin R. Bergstrom, son of Kistal and Jon E. Bergstrom, of Frankston, recently graduated from the Marine Corps Basic Combat Engineer Course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
During the five-week course, Bergstrom received instruction in the fundamentals of engineering support for combat units, including the procedures for building and repairing bridges, roads and field fortifications. Berg-strom also received training on demolition concepts, land mine warfare and camouflage techniques.
Bergstrom, a 2010 graduate of Frankston High School of Frankston, joined the Marine Corps in September 2010.
