UPDATE: Woman Wanted For Assault With Vehicle Arrested

A Tyler woman wanted on aggravated assault charges following a fight at a local nightclub has been arrested in Anderson County after officials received a Crime Stopper tip.

Don Martin, Tyler Police spokesperson, said his agency was notified this morning that Anderson County Sheriff’s Office had Brittany Michelle Barrett in custody.

Police obtained three arrest warrants for the May 14 incident when she used her vehicle to intentionally strike three people.

Martin said Ms. Barrett will be transported to the Smith County Jail where she will be held on bonds totaling $225,000.

Warrants for the arrest of a woman believed to have hit three people with a car last week have been issued.

According to a news release by the Tyler Police Department, warrants for the arrest of Brittany Michelle Barrett, 22, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon were issued Tuesday for three counts stemming from an incident on May 14.

About 2:30 a.m. May 14, a fight broke out at a club in the 2100 block of North Grand Avenue. During the fight, Ms. Barrett allegedly got into a 2003 Ford Explorer and attempted to run three people over outside the club, according to the release.

Police are asking anyone with information about Ms. Barrett's whereabouts to call 903-531-1000 or Crimestoppers at 903-597-2833.
