School Improvement, May 18
Given that both John Tyler and Robert E. Lee High Schools are now academically unacceptable and that both principals for these high schools are leaving for better opportunities, shouldn’t the Tyler ISD school board take into account the results of the last two years of micromanagement of the high schools by the current administration?
Considering all the extra paper work required of teachers for each student with the adoption of the superintendent’s highly-touted C-Scope curriculum, shouldn’t Tyler see better results than “academically unacceptable”? Could it be that the addition of multiple layers of administrative staff by this administration has created a paperwork blizzard within the district with the main goal of justifying one’s position, and that this tsunami of paperwork has reduced the time that teachers have for instruction?
Maybe the school board is absolutely convinced that everything is just fine in TISD, but from an outside perspective, I believe I could be forgiven for arriving at a different conclusion.
