Elect Smith, May 16
The upcoming election for sheriff of Smith County presents an opportunity to elect one of the finest and most qualified candidates to ever run for the position. I have been a law enforcement officer in one capacity or another for over 30 years, many of them in a supervisory or administrative capacity. During my years in municipal law enforcement, many situations arouse requiring technical criminal investigative assistance and resources not available at the local level. I had the pleasure and good fortune during several bomb threat and suspected arson cases to call on the expertise of Larry Smith. At any hour of the day or night, Larry would respond without hesitation and give generously of his time and expertise.
It would be a tragedy to waste this opportunity by electing a sheriff based on slogans, friendships, billboards or money. I strongly encourage you to honestly investigate each of the candidates’ backgrounds, training, education and experience. You will find Larry is hands down the most qualified candidate to lead the Smith County Sheriff’s Office on day one. Please join me in electing Larry Smith to protect life, liberty, and property in the county in which I was born and love.
