A home at the intersection of Chilton and Mockingbird in Tyler sustained heavy damage in a fire that was called in shortly after 2 p.m. today.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming out of a second-story window. The fire is now under control, and firefighters are working to put out any hot spots, according to Tony Gumber, assistant Tyler fire marshal.

It is unknown if anyone was at home. There was a car parked in the carport.
