Technical Issues Stall Tyler Area Election Results
Smith County election results are delayed due to technical issues, Karen Nelson, Smith County Elections Administrator, said tonight.
“We had a technical issue with one of the judge's machines,” Ms. Nelson said.
The malfunction happened at a polling location in Chapel Hill, delaying all results other than early returns until repairs are completed.
Polls closed at 7 p.m., officials said.
Technicians must go to the location to conduct the work, Ms. Nelson said shortly after 9 p.m.
“We'll have it (repairs) done tonight,” she said, noting early returns are the only ones available at this point.
