TJC $25 Million Bond Passes
With 67 of 70 precincts reporting, the Tyler Junior College $25 million bond election show that 1,619 people, or 56 percent, voted for the bond, while 1,257, or 44 percent, voted against it.

The money will go toward the construction, acquisition and equipment of a nursing and health sciences building on the TJC main campus.

Longtime Tyler minister Darryl Bowdre has won the District 2 seat on the Tyler City Council.

Complete, but unofficial results show Bowdre received 125 votes, or 52 percent.
