Lightning Strike Closes Texas Highway 31 West Near Murchison
Texas Highway 31 West reopened to traffic after a lightning strike prompted officials to shut down the highway Friday night.
Maj. Botie Hillhouse, with the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, said lightning struck a tanker truck on the side of the road about 9 p.m. at Farm-to-Market Road 1803 South and Texas 31. He said fire officials then were called after it looked like a second tanker truck on the other side of the road was going to explode.
