Dorothy “Dottie” Graves Kellam
We are celebrating the life of Dorothy “Dottie” Graves Kellam, 87, Tyler, at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Friendly Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Perry officiating. Dorothy went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2012. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1924, in West Lake, La., to Charles F. and Beulah Hildebrandt Strahan. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for Berry Cigar and Candy Co. and later retired from Grocery Supply Co. in Tyler. She was a member of Friendly Baptist Church.

She was an avid reader and spent countless hours on her award-winning cross-stitch and crochet. She loved gardening and surrounded her home with plants and flowers. Dorothy was loved and adored by her grandchildren and always known as “Granny.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jack A. Graves and Frank Kellam; her brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her children, Jack Graves and wife Helen of Rowlett, David Graves and wife Carolyn of Garland, Pam Borel and husband Stan of Tyler, Jimmy Graves of Hammond, La.; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Graves, Stan Borel III, Shane Graves, Keith Graves, Ronan Searle, Mike Carson and Reyes Rosales. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Borel and Jimmy Graves Jr.
