Smith County Files Permit For Smith County Downtown Jail Expansion
Smith County filed a building permit for work to be done on the Smith County Downtown Jail expansion, at 206 E. Elm St.
Work includes demolishing asphalt paving, private sidewalk, wheel blocks, retaining wall, curb and crepe myrtles. The Smith County Road and Bridge Department is the contractor. The permit did not include a price estimate for the work.
Texas Arthritis & Rheumatology Specialist is finishing a 4,570-square-foot new lease space at 5777 New Copeland Road, Suite 200. Sentry General Contractors, Inc. is the contractor for the $315,000 project.
Peoples Petroleum Building, LLC, filed a demolition permit to do work on 11,144-square-feet of space on the Peoples Bank building's ninth and 10th floors, at 102 N. College Ave. Garrett & Associates General Contractors, Ltd., of Whitehouse, is the contractor for the $50,000 project.
Holiday Inn Express, at 3247 E. Gentry Parkway, is removing a partial roof, wood framing, pool pumps and electrical work due to a fire in its pump room. Tyler Holiday Realty, LLC, is the owner and Cotton Commercial USA, of Katy, is the contractor for the $40,000 project.
The Tyler Police Department is replacing a canopy with a 50-feet-by-90-feet cover over its shooting range, located outside the city limits at 2807 Public Roadway for $33,000.
Sam's Club is installing a 206-square-foot pre-fabricated Hearing Center, including an audio metric booth and associated millwork, inside its existing building at 2025 SSW Loop 323. First National Bank of Boston is the owner and Wurzel Builders, of Austin, is the contractor for the $16,700 project.
Tyler Christian Preschool is adding doors and a wall for a smoke exit at its 9,800-square-foot facility ay 714 Shelley Drive for $5,600. WRL General Contractors, of Flint, is the contractor.
The Jalapeno Tree filed a temporary use permit to allow live music and alcohol served in a closed off section of its parking lot, at 420 WSW Loop 323, for Cinco de Mayo. Paul Bambrey is listed as the owner.
Jose and Maria Saucedo filed a temporary use permit for Paleteria Pola to host an event for a kids' day event, including music, gifts, games and jumpers, at 917 S. Vine Ave.
Sign permits were filed by Focus Financial Group, 5409 Donnybrook Ave., $1,000, Leon's Signs, Inc.; and Keith Dollahite, attorney, 5457 Donnybrook, $ 1,000, Leon's Signs.

Jim Crane Homes, LLC, is constructing a 3,745-square-foot home at 6531 Emory Court for $300,000.
Forest Meadows, LLC, filed three building permits to construct a 1,300-square-foot home at 123 Letha Court for $126,000; a 1,380-square-foot home at 111 Letha Court for $127,000; and a 1,300-square-foot home at 105 Letha Court for $125,000.
Coeli Romeo is building a $37,000 pool at 1395 Old Creek. Blue Haven Pools is the contractor.
Justin Armstrong is constructing a $37,000 pool at 6596 Furman. Trinity Valley Pools & Spas is the contractor.
Victor Fuentes is installing new windows, flooring, fixtures, roof and HVAC to a home at 2634 Caldwell Circle for $26,106. Star Development is the contractor.
Larry Mundt is adding a Jet Ski stall and a new fishing pier at 17745 South Point Road in Whitehouse for $16,000. Hanks Construction Co., LLC, of Whitehouse, is the contractor.

Shirley A. Kirksey is constructing a $9,965 tornado shelter at 3307 Jan Ave.
Carlos A. Guardado renewed a permit for electrical and plumbing work at 3129 Van Highway for $3,000.
Salvador Rodriguez is replacing windows and repairing a door at 1503 Darean St. for $1,500. Rodriguez Co. is the contractor.
