Generous Support, April 29
ROSES: We send lots of raves and roses to the many people of Tyler and Smith County who have once again generously supported the Book Fair of Tyler. During the three- day sale from April 12 to 14, sales exceeded $17,000. Most of this will be used to help fund student scholarships in health career fields at Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler.

A big thank you to the following: The Tyler Paper for news articles published about the Book Fair, Channel 19 and Citizens Bank, Lee High School, and David and Jane Fender for the electronic marquis displays advertising the spring sale, the Tyler newspaper GoGuide for getting the word out about our semiannual sale dates, KTBB Radio and John Sims for the interview on “Staff Meeting,” KETK Fox 51 for a morning interview on the local Today show, and the University of Texas Health Science Center, East Texas Medical Center Hospital and Mother Frances Hospital for the use of their tents.

As we are finishing our 43rd year of Book Fair, we certainly want to thank our loyal customers as well as new ones who have just discovered Book Fair. People everywhere love to read and look at books they can hold in their hands. Book Fair books are sold at “rock bottom” prices and are affordable to just about anyone.

As the Medical Alliance works toward the purchase of a larger Book Fair building, many patrons new and old chose during the sale to donate to the Book Fair Foundation and help in achieving this goal. We thank each of you for your generosity.

We again appreciate the support of so many in our community and look forward to seeing you at our next sale in the fall.
