Mother Frances Named To Top 100
Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler announced that Thomson Reuters named it one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals.

Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals study evaluates performance in mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, and pneumonia.

“We are excited to receive this award and are proud of the dedicated staff, clinicians, physicians and volunteers that strive to provide efficient and high quality care to each and every patient,” Laura Owen, FACHE, CEO, Mother Fran-ces Hospital-Tyler, said in a statement. “Our patients deserve this level of care and we are proud that we are consistently able to rank as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the United States.”

Thomson Reuters’ researchers evaluated almost 3,000 short-term, acute care hospitals. They use public information from Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider data, and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare website.

Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to market this honor, the announcement said.
