Civil Air Patrol Holding Pancake, Waffle Breakfast
Tyler Civil Air Patrol's pancake and waffle breakfast is scheduled from 8 to 11 a.m. today at its headquarters, 1594 Dixie Drive, Tyler Pounds Regional Airport.
Weather-permitting, a MIG-17 Russian Fighter Jet will be on display at the Civil Air Patrol hangar for viewing.
Civil Air Patrol is an all-volunteer organization created during World War II to assist the United States military in defending the home front and was congressionally chartered in 1951.
Civil Air Patrol missions include the cadet program, operations (emergency services) and aerospace education. Tyler Composite Squadron holds fundraising events during the year. The money raised goes toward training for seniors and cadets in the incident command system, communications, ground and aerial search and rescue techniques and citizens emergency response teams.
